Deborah Johnson

Deborah Johnson.pngDeborah arrived to the Rehabilitation Hospital of Overland Park after being admitted to acute care hospitals for severe back pain, and a fall at home.

Following an MRI, it was discovered that she had three sacral fractures that most likely caused the falls. Unfortunately, Deborah was unable to care for herself and couldn’t walk due to pain and weakness. At the beginning of her stay, she was unable to walk or stand and was confined to a wheelchair. Knowing she wanted to get better, she began working hard everyday in therapy. She was able to get her pain under control and meet her goals. We are excited to report that after her stay, she was able to do everything on her own and walk over 500ft with some sort of assistance.

“At first I couldn’t walk… I couldn’t do anything. I slowly got better and better and feel like I am now close to 100% again. It was all my doctors, all my nurses, and all the staff who were extra good to me. They were all helpful and now I am going home!”

Thanks to the extraordinary people at The Rehabilitation Hospital of Overland Park, Deborah has made great gains and lives at home while she continues her journey of healing and recovery.
